                                                  LABOUR DAY CELEBRATION

                 ‘The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention.’

Sometimes we forget to thank the people who make our life happier and easier in so many ways. In order to inculcate the feeling of kindness in our little ones Delhi Public School, Sec. 102 A, Dwarka Expressway, celebrated Labour’s Day from 24th April to 28th April with plentiful fun activities and events. During the week children with great delight prepared ‘Thank You’ cards with hand prints for their nannies. A special assembly was conducted where they were taught about the different kinds of helpers around them and their importance in one’s life. A ‘Fancy Dress Competition’ was also organised on the theme ‘Our Community Helpers’ wherein our students, dressed up like policeman, milkman, postman, teacher, gardener etc., gave mesmerising performances. To sensitise the students about compassion, an activity ‘Act of Kindness’ was also conducted in school premises. Our little ones brought items as tokens of love for their helpers. This activity helped to instil in the value of generosity and gentleness in our tiny tots.

    Bringing school and parents together improves academic and social success for children.

    To make our parents well informed about school’s portal, Delhi Public School, Sec. 102 A, Dwarka Expressway conducted a workshop ‘Effective Use of Portal’ on 13th May in school premises wherein the parents reported at the scheduled time and understood the importance of using portal like for viewing the attendance, homework, circulars, notices, worksheets, time table, fee status, events, photos, upcoming events and many more. They were explained the easiest way to communicate with school through parent-teacher communication available on portal. The parent appreciated school’s efforts and learnt more about making them updated. Over all, the workshop proved a successful and fruitful one.

                                FUN DAY AT SCHOOL

                                          ‘Never, ever underestimate the importance of having fun.’

      School fun days are an important part of student educational life at any level. Allowing the students to enjoy a day of fun activities to break up the routine of school work is healthy and makes school more enjoyable for students as well as faculties. The students of Delhi Public School enjoyed the last working day before the summer vacations with full fun and frolic. They had a great time while watching the movie ‘Inside Out’ which was an outstanding one depicting the learning way to handle the emotions. They established a connection with the theme of the movie and enjoyed to the fullest. During the ‘Pool Party’, they were super excited when they splashed and jumped into the water under the watchful eyes of the educators. They relished many fun-filled activities like Musical Chair, Ball Poll, Sand Pit Zone, Balloon Jumping, Dart Game, Tattoo Designing and many more. They had a pleasurable moment having the mock tail ‘Blue Lagoon’ followed by dancing on music beat. It was a remarkable day full of fun and fervor.

                                                                                  TIARA MAKING ACTIVITY

                               ‘The loveliest masterpiece of the heart of God is the heart of a mother.’

        Mother’s love is bliss which knows no law, no pity but showers love and blessings unconditionally. A mother helps her child to grow, prosper and reach great heights. To celebrate Mother’s Day, Delhi Public School conducted an activity ‘Tiara Making’ for grade I-V students wherein students were provided colouful sheets, ribbons, glitters and many more to make tiaras for their lovely mothers. They were delighted and showed their affection and warmth for their wonderful mothers by designing attractive tiaras. Everyone knows the importance of a mother in his or her life but through this activity children learnt the value of a trivial but treasurable token of love for the most loved one.

          Children do better in school when parents are involved in their academic lives. A Parent Teacher Meeting is the platform to build and strengthen the bond between parents, teachers and students. On this note, DPS - sector 102, Dwarka Expressway organised their first PTM for the session 2017 – 2018.

          The campus was filled with vibrant, enthusiastic and energetic parents. Parents and teachers together shared the strengths and weaknesses of the students. They discussed ways to take the children on to the next level of their learning and achieve great heights in this session.

          There were activities planned for our little toddlers like ball pool, game zone bouncy etc. Children enthusiastically showed their school and varied activity zones to their parents.

          A day that ended beautifully with smiles......

                      ‘Winners don’t wait for chances, they make them’

            Delhi Public School , Sector 102, Dwarka Expressway  is associated with SOF to conduct Olympiad in an endeavor to develop a greater competitive spirit, better assessment and exploration of potential among students. SOF is a registered and non-profit educational foundation set up in 1998 to promote skills among school students. It encourages development of aptitude through innovative activities and use of information technology process across the globe. Our students of primary classes participated in IEO (International English Olympiad) with full zest. The detailed analysis and results of this Olympiad are beneficial to student as well as the parents for assessing the growth and development of their wards.

                                                                ACT OF KINDNESS

                            ‘Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.’

              To sensitise the students about the feeling of oneness and brotherhood, Delhi Public School, Sec. 102 A, Dwarka Expressway conducted an activity ‘Act of Kindness’ on 29th April where in students were supposed to bring any item as a token of love  from their home to gift their helpers like nanny, driver, conductor, gardener, guard etc. Generous contribution of items like grocery, crockery, garments, accessories and many more were brought and distributed by the students to their helpers. This compassionate deed brought a smile on their faces instilling in them the value of compassion.
