Earth Day Celebration, 22nd April’21
Nature has its own ways to remind us of its immense power. No time could be more relevant to this fact when such devastating pandemic is turning the lives of us all upside down. We, the common people, often think what can we do to change the world and save the environment. On 22nd April’21, to commemorate the Earth Day, DPS, Dwarka Expressway opened the platform to the young leaders of tomorrow to pave way for all to follow and do our bit. Our young Dipsites, through their enthusiastic, fervent and commendable participation, showed us that even small little steps eventually make a big impact on the earth.
Our Grade VI learners designed electric vehicles as per their imagination, giving wings to their creativity and reminded us about the importance of green fuel and switching to alternative sources of energy.
Grade VII learners beautifully presented small skits in groups, based on the sustainable development goals. Zero Hunger, Clean Water and Sanitation were the themes on which the students poured out their creativity and enthralled us with their out of the box ideas.
Grade VIII enjoyed a Virtual Tour and shared self-made videos on the theme ‘Overcoming the Challenges of Climate Change’.
Grade IX learners had a captivating Panel Discussion on ‘Carbon Footprints: All We Need to Know’ They came up with astounding ideas and made each other aware about some remarkable facts and suggestions.
Debate on 'We Should Act Fast in Adoption of Electric Vehicles' (Based on the concept of FAME- Faster Adoption of Electric Vehicles) by Grade X students opened our eyes towards the contradiction between the necessity and the hindrances in adopting this much needed policy.
Overall, the celebration was extremely gratifying, reminding us of our duties towards our planet.
