Lemonade - is the summer drink that is known to quench our thirst and relished by everyone to the T. This cool drink loved by one and all was made for celebrating the yellow day at DPS, Dwarka Expressway, with our little Dipsites of the PrePrimary wing. The children came dressed up in yellow attire and participated in lemonade making activity. A craft making activity with a yellow theme was also organized. The kids got really involved and thus was evident in the way they were seen enjoying themselves.

At DPS, Dwarka Expressway, we wish that our students not only have fun during our activities, but they also learn basics of life as they grow into responsible individuals. In the ‘Shopping Spree’ activity to be conducted for Grade I students, the students were given a list of items they could use to make a shopping list for themselves with the help pf their parents at home. Students brought the list to school and before they took a stroll around our very school make-believe market set up, the students made their own shopping bags. This way, they learnt the importance of carrying their own shopping bags to the market. Students moved around the market area to have a great experience while learning how to shop within a fixed amount and choosing what they need over what they want. it amazed us to see students choosing what they really need and ruling out any stuff that they already had. At such a young age, they learned how to learn the value for money.

Introducing cooking to students has many benefits: Children may try new and healthy foods through such activities. Teaching cooking to youth is an opportunity to teach nutrition education such as planning meals and make smarter food choices. Cooking can aid children in acceptance of responsibility.

At DPS, Dwarka Expressway during our cooking without fire activity, we witnessed students come up with spectacular dishes and some really innovative techniques to prepare the same. some students also prepared mocktails with their dishes to complement their preparation. We loved to see them gear up in headgears, aprons, name tag for themselves as well as for the dishes. NOt only did they cook, but they also plated their dish to present it to all. It was evident from the vibe of the school how much have the students enjoyed the activity. they moved around the school making educators and friends taste their dishes.

Krishna has been bringing positivity in our lives forever. His presence can be felt today through our little children and their innocence.

Krishna was born in the darkness of the night, into the locked confines of a jail. However, at the moment of his birth, all the guards fell asleep, the chains were broken and the barred doors gently opened.

Similarly, as soon as Krishna (awareness) takes birth in our hearts, all darkness (negativity) fades.
All chains of Ego, I, Me, Myself are broken. And all prison doors we keep ourselves in like Caste, Religion, Profession, Relations and more, are opened.

That is the real message and essence of Janamashtami.

Our little Dipsites depicted each phase of Krishna and his journey through Tableaus around the school foyer. The show began with the auspicious lamp lighting and summed up with a mesmerising Rasleela that our students of pre primary had put forward for themselves, all educators, staff members and most importantly, their lovely parents.
We wish we celebrate many more occasions with parents and children together.

Krishna krishna hare krishna hare hare Shri krishna govind hare murari Hey nath narayan vasudeva Sri Krishna is considered as the one of the most powerful human incarnations of the Lord Vishnu. He was born around 5,200 years ago in Mathura. The sole objective of Sri Krishna's birth was to free the Earth from the evilness of demons. He played an important role in Mahabharata and propagated the theory of bhakti and good karma which are narrated deeply in the Bhagwat Geeta. We, at DPS, strongly believe that there is Krishna in each child, we just need to be aware of this fact. To celebrate Krishna and his teachings, we got together to listen to some stories of Bal Krishna, to understand his birth and role of maa Devki. His mother, maa yashoda, and her constant support in Krishna's journey. Mira Bai and her devotion to lord Krishna was related to how devotion makes one goal oriented in today's world. To teach our Dipsites the true meaning of friendship, Krishna's mitra, Sudama's story was also recited through beautiful recitation of our very own students. From maakhan chori to praying and singing to the tunes of Achutam Keshavam Krishna Damodaram, Ram Narayanan, Jaanki vallabham, and many more such magical music pieces, we loved how our students were able to understand the true meaning of Janamashtami not only in the books but also to adapt Krishna's teachings in today's world. #Janmashtami #Celebration #LordKrishna #Love #Life #DPSDwarkaExpressway

Making of the compost is to educate children regarding our contribution to a healthy environment. Importance of making compost is to decrease organic waste and to convert it into beneficial manure which in turn will aid in giving good crop yield making soil more aerated and improves drainage. Moreover, it decreases air pollution which will occur on burning that waste. It will also decrease the littering of this on streets and societies.

As we celebrated Janamasthami in different ways at our school, we knew that our little ones would love to dress up as Krishna Ji and Radha Ji. Students of Grade I to IV dressed up in fancy attires to school. They watched a short film on ‘Krishna Janm’ and then enjoyed to tunes of Radha- Krishna, Yashoda-Krishna stories in the form of beautiful songs. They loved showcasing their moves during their impromptu ramp walk pairing up with Radha and Krishna.

We loved seeing them all with all smiles, dancing and yet learning about festivals and their importance.

At DPS, we promote experiential learning over the conventional rote learning methods. This ensures that subjects such as grammar which are traditionally considered mundane also become interesting to learn and understand.

One such initiative - 'Noun Tree Activity' which was organized for Grade IA to introduce them to the concept of nouns. As a part of this activity, the students decorated a noun tree chart which consisted of a tree with four branches each named after a category of noun - i.e. person, place, animal and thing.

Students were randomly given cut-outs of leaves each having an example noun. The task was to match the example noun with the correct classification and accordingly paste on the right branch of the tree. For example, the leaf with the word 'Delhi' was to be pasted on the tree branch named 'Place' and so on.

Through this activity, the students learned to identify nouns in a given sentence and classify them into one of the four categories. Children thoroughly enjoyed this activity as it was learning through fun.

They participated in competitions like Parliamentary Debate and TEC (Technology, Entertainment and Communication) Talk, the students got exposure of a stage where they were addressing to large audience.

We were happy to see them bloom into good orators.

"Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high, where knowledge is free. Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls. Where the words come out from the depth of truth, where tireless striving stretches its arms toward perfection. Where the clear stream of reason has not lost it's way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit. Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever widening thought and action. In to that heaven of freedom, my father LET MY COUNTRY AWAKE!" Rabindranath Tagore

At DPS, Dwarka Expressway, we believe that independent India is a responsibility of each citizen, young or old. To celebrate the freedom and liberty that comes with great responsibility, we gathered together as one. From scintillating dance performance to sooting songs, from well-coordinated drills to students on wheels giving a performance giving goosebumps. From revisiting the jalianwala Bagh massacre to nerve wrecking and I spring spreches, we witnessed it all. Standing with our heads high facing the tricolour flag, proudly singing our national anthem, we celebrated India, we celebrated responsibility, we celebrated togetherness, we celebrated unity.

                          Nanha munna raahi hun,
                          Desh Ka sipahi Hun,

JAI HIND! JAI HIND! JAI HIND!

Just like we sang that while reading it, Utsav, our Grade II, young Dipsite made sure that each of his classmates sang along with him as they celebrate Independent India.
The true spirit of independence is reflected through young children like Utsav and their zeal to make a difference. Wishing all a very happy independent India.

“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.” - Plato

It’s rightly said that when you feel passionate about something, nothing seems impossible. Our students feel the same passion for singing and playing various instruments. DPS Society held a music competition, Swaranjali, at their cultural festival where our students enthusiastically participated. Our students traveled all the way to DPS Sonepat to showcase their talent and we are proud of them. We are proud to see children from all cultures come together and sing a beautiful Bengali folk number. It was mesmerizing to see them perform and see them grow as responsible students.

The girls brought Rakhi for the boys and in return, the boys brought Sweet's for the girls as a gift. It was a thrilling experience for the children as they participated in Rakhi making activity and the girls tied Rakhi on the wrist of the boys. The significance of the festival was explained to the children.

Byju's School Super League, was conducted at DPS, Dwarka Expressway, for the students of Grade IV- VIII.

The quiz incorporated various High Order Thinking Multiple Choice Questions for our students. Students were given proper instructions by a facilitator from Byju's where they were taught to solve multiple-choice questions in a timed quiz and fill their respective responses in the given OMR Sheet. It was great to see that our students have made excellent efforts for the quiz. They seemed to be so engrossed in solving questions and as it was one of their first competitive exams other than olympiads that they keep on participating in.

To reinvent the education system and give students a break from traditional classroom learning, there is a dire need to revive the quiz culture in schools. Technology can act as a facilitator by bringing innovation to quizzes and ensuring active participation among students.

A Quiz Competition was organised by DPS Society was held at DPS Sushant Lok , our young masterminds put their best foot forward. If life was about winning or losing, nobody would be happy. When we know we learnt, when we know we enjoyed, when we know we experienced, we’ve accomplished something great. We are proud of each participant from DPS Dwarka Expressway.

Great dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their passion. – Martha Graham

This passion is what we see in our young dancers. Tip toeing in the outside world and showing that they have arrived, our Performer Dipsites did us proud. At a dance competition, Nrityanjali, organised by the DPS Society at DPS Indirapuram, we witnessed our students evolve from little children to empowered women as they depicted Mahishasur Mardini. We were proud to see the panel give a standing ovation to our students as they held the name of DPS Dwarka Expressway high.

We wish for even more such experiences for our students.
