It was a red letter day in the history of India when our country got her freedom on August 15, 1947. The students of DPS Dwarka Expressway celebrated Independence Day with great pomp and show. They were beautifully dressed and carried ribbons and balloons of tri colours in their hands, they sang the National Anthem. They presented some amazing dance and patriotic song performances. The students celebrated by enacting the countless sacrifices and struggles that our freedom fighters have made to make India independent from British rule. It was a treat to see the patriotic spirit in our students.

It is a proud moment for everyone as we approach the 75 th Independence Day on August 15, 2021.This annual observance has great significance, as it is the time to make our children aware of the freedom struggle and commemorate our brave leaders and fighters of history who won us the freedom we are enjoying today. On this great occasion, our school came up with a lot of interesting activities for celebrating this day. The highlights of the virtual celebrations were slogans of famous freedom fighters, speeches, dancing and singing patriotic numbers. The students participated with great zeal and famous and soaked the day in the flavour of patriotism.

Freedom in the Mind, Faith in the words, Pride in our souls, Let’s salute the nation on this auspicious day

The pandemic has confined the students to their homes, but it cannot reduce the spirit of pre-primary students of DPS Dwarka Expressway, Gurgaon. The celebration of the 75th Independence Day commenced on a beautiful note. The young learners celebrated this event, with a sense of pride for the nation. The educators reminded the struggle and scarifies that our freedom fighters did to give us this Independence of life. On August 11, 2021, the tiny tots of Pre-Nursery enthusiastically participated and enhanced their skills by doing hands-on activities. Our little heart of Nursery had presented the patriotic dance with great zeal. Our young learners of KG presented the famous slogan of our freedom fighters which mesmerized the listeners. It was a day of elation, a day of love and respect for the country, instilling the value and reverence for the gift of freedom, given to us by the great freedom fighters of our country.

I hear and I forget, I see and I remember.  I do and I understand.

August 5 and 6, 2021 were innovative and experimental days for all the students of grades III, IV, V as we organized Scienceporium, a month full of Science activities and talks through a virtual platform. The activities were a wonderful tool that engaged students in learning new facts related to principles of Science. It developed in them a sense of curiosity to learn more in an interesting and experiential way.

Inspired, encouraged and motivated budding scientists of Grade V, performed the activity of Dancing Arrows- an optical illusion. Learners discovered the way light is affected when moving from one medium to another (such as from air to water or visa versa) and refraction happens whenever light passes from one medium to another.

Learners of grade IV were introduced to some facts behind delusions like- swallow tulsi leaves but never chew and eat curd and sugar before heading out. This enhanced their critical thinking skills and developed the way of knowing, based on evidence.

Learners of grade III demonstrated an activity of making bubbles with a long tail. They learnt that a bubble is just air wrapped in a soap film. Soap and water work as a team and holds the air inside. This activity developed a scientific approach behind everyday Science.

It was wonderful to watch little kids experimenting, thinking and analyzing, which taught us that we and science are made for each other.
