Children being children won't immediately realize the benefits of school assemblies. However, just like a balanced breakfast, they are an essential start to a young child's day and a significant influence in helping them grow into responsible adults with a well-developed sense of community. School assemblies are an excellent resource for kids to learn more about the school, develop their values, and provide an exciting venue for them to grow and develop into a valuable member of society and the outlying community. They will also learn about what their school stands for and how it can be the stepping stone to some great opportunities in life. One such school assembly was conducted by grade 1A students. The topic given to them was “Discipline”. The main aim of the class educator was to impart knowledge and skill, in other words, to teach self-control, increase desirable behaviors and decrease undesirable behaviors to the students. This school assembly was presented in an excellent manner which provided an opportunity to the kids to develop their self-confidence by speaking up and sharing their ideas. There were kids who were smart enough to speak in front of large groups but this assembly gave a chance to everyone to get involved through mass poem recitation and an English song sung by one and all.
