Sink and Float Experiment-Kindergarden
Sink and Float Experiment-Kindergarden

Have you ever wondered why some things sink and some things float? You might even think that bigger things sink and smaller things float, but in the weird and wonderful world we live in, that’s not actually true! The density of an object determines whether it will float or sink in another substance. An object will float if it is less dense than the liquid it is placed in. An object will sink if it is denser than the liquid it is placed in. This week our little scholars of DPS enjoyed their hands-on experience with the experiment "SINK and FLOAT". They got a lot of reality checks and were amused to see the facts of science.

Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality. We have always noticed the sky soaring capabilities of our students. We all at Delhi Public School, Dwarka Expressway, take immense pride in announcing our very first Prefectorial Body felicitated by our esteemed guest of honour, Commander Sushil Kumar, Joint Director from Directorate of Naval Education, Delhi Headquarters. This Prefectorial body has been created after minute analysis and we are sure that it will prove to be an important platform to empower students in leadership and reflect responsible behaviour. The Prefects, at DPS, uphold the values and ideals of our school and will share our vision with larger student community. Our very first Investiture Ceremony signifies the reliance and confidence that our school consigns in the newly invested office bearers as they lead by example. A number of cultural performances were also put together for our guests. Our students put up a great show for all the proud parents who attended the ceremony. Many Congratulations to all the office-bearers.

Our students spend most of their time at school. They are surrounded by many people other than their teachers that they may see everyday but don't get to know them! Our Life Skills facilitator ensured that the students move around the school They see each and every corner of the school that is maintained for their well being. It was wonderful to see their oozing out excitement for the round. Our students spoke to each and every important person in the school. From our school admission counselor, to the front desk personnel, from the Human Resource Executive to our School Headmistress.. from school security guards to the Managing Director's office. They even met the school counselor and moved around the Medical Infirmary to know exactly where to go in case of an emergency. They were the most excited to see the accounts department and our printing room. The students got a sneak peek into our examination department. It was an enriching and thrilling experience. We look forward to many more such interactions of our students with people around them to facilitate their all-round development.
