Diwali Celebrations for Pre primary graders

Diwali is the time of festivities, sweets, love, and family. We celebrated Diwali together as one big family at DPS, Dwarka Expressway. We decided to dress up in our favourite ethnics along with our children and make the day memorable for all. Our young Dipsites recreated Ramayan on stage. It was indeed a proud moment to witness them growing up as young confident children.
Wishing all a very Happy Diwali!!
Children’s day, one of the best day of the year for kids, is celebrated on November 14, on the birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru in schoolsacross the country. As a tribute to Chacha Nehru, the students of Pre Primary were shown a short animated movie. We conducted craft making and colouring activities, wherein they decorated their craft items and it was given to them as a token of love.

'How we wish to see our young Dipsites grow and prosper..., and how we wish they could always stay this little and sweet...!'
To create a memory of a lifetime, our students locked their hand and foot prints on a T-shirt. This activity served as a memory for some and for others a sensory activity that facilitated a lot of learning for children and for us. As much as we enjoyed doing it, we are sure that the parents loved receiving this priceless gift from their children.

              Life Skills- School Round

As we teach the basics of life and its skills to our young Dipsites, we feel that it is imperative that they are aware of their surroundings and know how to deal with them too. Our students spend most of their time at school. They are surrounded by many people other than their teachers that they may see everyday but don't get to know them! Our Life Skills facilitator ensured that the students move around the school They see each and every corner of the school that is maintained for their well being. It was wonderful to see their oozing out excitement for the round. Our students spoke to each and every important person in the school. From our school admission counselor, to the front desk personnel, from the Human Resource Executive to our School Headmistress.. from school security guards to the Managing Director's office. They even met the school counselor and moved around the Medical Infirmary to know exactly where to go in case of an emergency. They were the most excited to see the accounts department and our printing room. The students got a sneak peek into our examination department. It was an enriching and thrilling experience. We look forward to many more such interactions of our students with people around them to facilitate their all-round development.

                  Ekta Divas Celebrations
                  Ekta Divas Celebrations

Every year, Sardar Vallabhai Patel's birth anniversary is celebrated as Ekta Divas. Vallabhbhai Jhaverbhai Patel, popularly known as Sardar Patel, was an Indian politician and one of the most prominent freedom fighters. He played a leading role in the country's struggle for independence and guided its integration into a united, independent nation. Post independence, he served as the first Deputy Prime Minister of India. He is also known as the Iron Man of India.

To celebrate Ekta Divas at DPS Dwarka Expressway, we thought it would be fitting if we bring all our students together and encourage them to share knowledge and ideas with each other through activities like Quiz and Extempore.

Grades I to IV got together for a house wise quiz activity whereas an extempore was organised for our students from Grade V and above. Issues like Bottled Water or Tap Water, Coaching Classes Vs Self Study were discussed. Some critical issues like impact of violent use of phones and media were also discussed amongst students. Interesting issues such as lowering of voting age was also discussed. Students displayed maturity and thought process beyond their age and put forward many great points.

This was our way of celebrating Ekta Divas, We would love to hear how would you celebrate this day. Share Below in Comments!
