                       Passage Writing Competition

                 “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”

Charity is the process of giving or helping someone either by money or by physical help. It always should begin from home. It is one of the most noble tasks that a man can do in his life. To sensitise the students about charity and to enrich their writing skills, Delhi Public School, Sec 102A, Dwarka Express way, Gurgaon, organised a ‘Passage Writing Competition’ on the theme ‘Charity’ for primary classes  wherein students were supposed to express their vision on this moral concern within the word limit instructed to them. They were very well prepared and participated with full zeal stating their outlook on this noble issue. Through this activity, the students discerned the relevance of charity in life.

    Christmas Day Celebration: Mini Christmas Carnival

    Delhi Public School, Sec. 102A, Dwarka Expressway, Gurgaon celebrated Christmas with full spirit shaping a Mini Christmas Carnival in school premises which included various stalls having different kinds of games like Ring-a-Cap, Decorate My Christmas Tree, Spoon Race, Wrap your friend, Hit the Target etc. The whole school with decorated stalls wore a festive look. All the students relished to the fullest while playing the games. None wanted to leave the place as it finally got over.

    The main attraction was the joy ride with Santa Claus which was immensely loved by our tiny-tots. With all the actions packed in, the carnival ended on a high note. Overall it was a boisterous triumph and jubilant way of ushering in the Christmas celebration.

      Christmas Day Celebration: Classroom Decoration Competition

      Keeping the festive spirit intact in students, Delhi Public School, Sec. 102 A, Dwarka Expressway, Gurgaon organised a Classroom Decoration Competition for each class wherein students were encouraged to use Christmas elements and only recycled materials or waste items. Students made themselves indulged in whole heartedly and with full zest. The festive spirit of Christmas was witnessed in everyone. The classes and corridors were beautifully decked up with Christmas bells, stockings, stars, snowman etc. created by the students in their art & craft class. It was really a remarkable effort done by our students.

        Christmas Day Celebration: A Special Assembly

              Christmas is for love, rejoicing, forgiveness and happiness”

        The spirit of Christmas celebrates the spirit of love, goodwill & generosity. It is the most magnificent time of the year to give & forgive and is celebrated everywhere as an exuberant annual event.

        To commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ, Delhi Public School, Sec. 102 A, Dwarka Express way, Gurgaon conducted a special assembly on 23rd Dec. 2016. Our little children of the Pre-Primary and Primary were outfitted as little Santa. With the wishes and blessings of our Headmistress Ms.Sumita Gupta in the presence of honourable Director, Ms.Shikha Sawhney, the assembly commenced with the Prayer Song followed by the news headlines and the thought of the day.Our little angels presented a Dance drama ‘Son of God’ with the melodious carols:‘Silent night….holy night’, ‘Rudolph the red nose reindeer’and  ‘Dashing through the snow……’ being sung by the school choir and filled the air with festivity.Santa packed with candies and gifts made the students more elated with his startling entry among them.

        The highlight of the day was ‘Balloon Dance’ of our tiny tots with their partners which left an abiding impression in everyone’s heart.

              DPS students shine in Inter-School Story Telling Competition

           “Key to success is hard work and determination”

          The students of Delhi Public School, Sec 102 A, Dwarka Express Way, Gurgaon, ardently participated in an Inter-School Story Telling Competition organized by Bharat Ram Global School, Sec. 86, Gurgaon on 17th December 2016. It was a moment for little ones to express and showcase their creative linguistic skills and talent by narrating stories. Advita of Pre- Nursery brought laurels to school by bagging 1st position in ‘Dress & Tell’ whereas Veeresh Singh of K.G secured 3rd position in ‘Show & Tell’. Our grade 4 students received appreciation certificates for portraying glimpses of incredible Indian ‘One act play’. The Head Mistress Ms.Sumita Gupta applauded the students for their efforts and encouraged them to stay in learning mode always. It was a great pleasure for us to see the happy faces of our tiny tots after the victory

            Proverb-O-Mania & Idiom Odyssey

            Proverbs & Idioms have been an integral part of Indian society. They not only add essence to the language but also act as a light house for young children.

            To encourage students to polish their language skills, Delhi Public School, Sec. 102A, Dwarka Expressway, Gurgaon, organized an event named Proverb-O-Mania & Idiom Odyssey on 14th Dec.2016 for primary classes. A week long introductory session concluded with an inter-class competition containing three rounds where in students were supposed to complete the proverb, guess the idiom for provided meaning and tell English equivalent of asked Hindi proverbs. The students not only enjoyed this activity but also loved basking in the sun in the chilly weather. It was a fun filled event enriched with zeal and enthusiasm where students’ active participation created an aura of fun and learning.

              Workshop On English Grammar By Guinness World Record Holder Mr. Sanjay Kumar Sinha

              On Saturday, 10th of December 2016, we played host to one of the most famous Grammarian of India- Mr. Sanjay Kumar Sinha. Mr. Sanjay is the proud holder of Guinness World Record, as the person who conducted the longest teaching session on grammar.

              It was an honour and an incredible experience participating in the workshop conducted by Mr. Sanjay. He demonstrated some quick teaching techniques and tricks to better understand and teach the concepts of grammar. He also discussed the importance of positive attitude in order to be able to learn and in turn educate the skill of writing and speaking in a more effective manner.

              Mr. Sinha also spoke about his book- The King’s Grammar, which has been graphically designed with colourful depiction of the various aspects of English Grammar.

              The knowledge sharing session was interactive and the teachers benefitted immensely.
